Obstacles to self-care

Last time we met up we talked about the ways we have of coping, including things we have done in the past. As we brainstormed it became apparent that we all had activities that have really helped us in the past but that we’ve stopped doing. So, that’s what we’ve chosen to explore in this session. What gets in the way of practising self-care? And what can we do about it?

About us

Climate Conversations is our Peer Support group for anyone who is concerned about the climate crisis. Living in the climate crisis, and starting to understand what that mean for ourselves and others presents us with difficult questions and emotions.

In our group we support each other as we try to come to terms with what’s happening to our world and figure out how we want to respond. This includes our emotional responses, the actions we can take in our everyday lives and strategies for looking after ourselves.

One thing we have learnt is that it really helps to be with other people who care and to have the opportunity to talk things through with other people.
