This list of the different topics we might want to cover was inspired by Dr. Panu Pihkala’s paper.

  • coping strategies
    • denial – Stories of denial from our own experience. Make a mind map of types of denial.
    • avoidance – Has there been a time when you avoided fully knowing about the climate crisis?
    • disavowal
    • acceptance – do some research, find a quote to make a toolkit.
    • doing what you can (doing the best you can in your circumstances) – What we can do personally is always going to be limited. There’s a huge gap between what’s in our sphere of influence and what needs to be done. How do you live with that?
